It is happening! The time of year when you know in your heart all is well because that joyous seasoning is coming. Last week as you were driving down Ehringhaus Street in Elizabeth city, a special treat was in store for all passing by. Christmas is happening at The Sand Dollar Bazaar, "Stores within a Store."
Debbie Harris, the owner, with her assistants, Janice and Mary are busy working on Christmas magic for all of us. Just a walk through the door and the smells of Christmas are in the air. Debbie was making cinnamon potpourri jars at her workspace. Janice and Mary were decorating while coordinating a dining room set load up for a client. I had a hard time nailing down the busy, often absent Debbie, who constantly was lending a hand to her staff. She was absent to help load the furniture in her client's truck, answering the phone to schedule ladies for an upcoming class. Debbie stopped to chat with vendors about new products and services soon to premiere. I sat there at the workspace and took in what Debbie is making happen for so many of the folks who happen to have a "Store within a Store." Tammy Krueger, Thriftique Boutique owner, is in the front window with an amazing array of her "General Finishes" painted furniture finds. Tammy's china cabinet in the front window was not there but a short time. I photographed it one week for a blog and the following week it was gone. The point is, if you see something in the window you like, stop and get it or you are going to miss out. The address is 800 W. Ehringhaus St., Elizabeth City. Stop by today.
